Red tail lights

Cost: $20

Difficulty:

Euro tail lights are expensive for the Bmw E34... And the following modification is not allowed in certain states (don't ask me why).

The trick is to have the whole tail light looking red. You just need to paint the side indicator of the tail light red or whatever color, but I strongly suggest red.
I bought my tail light paint from a local hardware store, I bought some glass paint on spray, you don't need to use a lot. (Black, green, blue, red) available.

Cost: Glass paint spray $10 - Polyurethane spray coating $6 (can be found in hardware stores).

Procedure

  • Tail Light Tinting Spray.
  • Masking tape and paper.
  • Polyurethane spray coating???

1. Clean the tail light then use making tape and paper around the area you don't want to paint.

2. Apply thin coats of paint to cover this ugly orange. After a couple of coats, you should be able to match the rest of the tail light color.

3. When you are happy with the tint of the tail light, you are suppose to spray some polyurethane to shine it up. It didn't work very well for me so I apply a last thick coat of tinting spray to shine the tail light up. Robert used automotive polish to bring out the proper finish.
